Gillespie Electric, Inc., a national award winning,
full service electrical contracting company, today announced it has been
awarded the Merit Award in the Electrical Category for its work on the
renovated office space at Radnor Corporate Center for VWR International, Inc., at
the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter Associated
Builders & Contractors’ (ABC EPA) 21th Annual Merit Construction Awards of Excellence program on
November 16. The awards program recognizes outstanding projects built by ABC
contractors in Eastern Pennsylvania area.
“In a year when the construction
market has again continued to have it struggles, it is a great honor to receive
an award for our hard work and craftsmanship,” said Bill Gillespie, Owner and
President of Gillespie Electric, Inc. “Each year the competition for the ABC Merit Awards of Excellence seems to get even
tougher. We are proud that VWR was selected among the elite group of projects
submitted.”
VWR International is one of
the world’s leading global laboratory supply and distribution companies. VWR
solidified space at Brandywine Realty Trust’s Corporate Center located in
Radnor, PA right before their previous lease ran out. The cooperation between
those involved was paramount in the fast paced completion of this 125,000
square foot renovation. The building’s unique design over five floors allows
for open cubicle office space, private offices, meeting rooms, auditoriums,
conference rooms, cafeteria areas and a private gym.
ABC EPA received 45 entries for this year’s awards
program. The projects entered must have
been completed between March 1, 2011 and September 1, 2011 and were judged by a
team of 52 industry experts representing a cross-section of professionals,
including architects, owners, developers and other construction industry
leaders. Members of the judging teams visited each of the projects to evaluate
the entries and determine the award winners.
